I can't wait to bring Glen to his first ever Lyszchyn family holiday.

I can’t wait.

I love holiday’s at my Grama’s house. I can’t wait to leave here and pick him up and show him off to my (step) cousins and then to bring him to my Grama’s and really make him part of the family.

Whenever Glen's brother Paul is home,

it’s like arule that we must have awkward small talk.

I mean, don’t get me wrong, Paul’s great. He gives me and Glen space, and he’s chill, and he’s nice and I like Paul. I really do. I however, fail at conversations with peers. And friends’ family members. So with my boyfriend’s family, forget it. They are so nice, and I love them, and they are always so great, but I always feel like I sound so stupid in front of them.

But anyway. Like today, he asked me about getting together me, Glen, him, a mutual friend or ours, and a group of others to go ice skating this winter break. I though that was nice, to ask me instead of having Glen ask me. But anyway, later, when Glen had left, he says “How are you two doing?” At first, I thought I heard him wrong. He asks me how college is, how commuting is, how my job is, even how my car is, but he’s never ever asked about my relationship with his brother. I kinda paused and said, “…Good.” Then he said “College isn’t putting any stress on you guys?”  I said, “No, not really.” He said, “Good.” “It just gets frustrating not always having time to see each other, because a lot of the time when he can hang out, I have class and I’m not home until 6:30.” He nodded. Glen’s parents came back in. Glen came back in. Our ‘touching’ moment was over. But it really took me by surprise that he asked that. I really wasn’t expecting that.

I saw the child verson of me and Glen today when we were ice skating.

This little girl was like cliging to the edge, like me. And the little boy was off doing laps. He kept going back to talk to her, but she’d stay by the edge and he’d go off and skate. It was so us 12 years ago. (If we had known each other back then.)
